Barbara Anderson Matherne, age 78, died on Friday, January 13, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, John A., Jr. and Marjorie Johnston Anderson; three children, Edward, Lisa, and Michelle Tujague; her husband, Curtis John Matherne; and her siblings, Robert Anderson and John A. Anderson, III.
Barbara is survived by her three beloved children, April Matherne Brauer (Sean), Michael Matherne (Laura), and Greg Matherne; her niece, Katie Anderson Pippin; her nephew, John A. Anderson, IV; and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Barbara was born in New Orleans on May 6, 1944, and attended Warren Easton High School. She was a longtime employee and manager with Tonti in Metairie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 10:00AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00AM. The interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
