Betty Balsamo Tapia age 90 entered eternal rest on October 23, 2024. Loving, proud and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Betty was predeceased by her husband, John H. Tapia; her son, Charles; and her sister, Gloria B. Mead. Survived by children Leslea (late Craig B. Parker) and Jon (Penny); grandchildren, Daniel, Liz (David), Michael (Tyler), Alex (Shelby), Courtney (Nick), Sydney, Connor and Chad (Jasmine). Also survived by nine great-grandchildren. After graduating in 1952 from McMain High School, she attended St. Mary's Dominican College. Friends and relative are invited to attend the services on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM followed by a funeral mass at 12:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude's Research Hospital.
