Cameron was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Laura Smith; brother, Scott Sandy; and brother-in-law, Kevin Brouard. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Cheryl Smith; loving daughter, Courtney S. Cunningham (Hal); step-mother, Patricia Smith; siblings, Thomas M. Smith (Laurel), Jennifer A. Smith, Mary Brouard, and Susan Crowell (Jim); grandchildren, Isabelle, Evelyn, and Elise Cunningham; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his dear feline friend, Butterscotch.
Cameron was a transportation vehicle mechanic with Winn Dixie, Jackson Truck and Trailer, and retired with the FBI. He was a devoted volunteer with the WWII Museum, and spent countless hours refurbishing the PT-305.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 11:30AM until 2:30PM. The interment will immediately follow the gathering in Metairie Cemetery.
