Carole C. Romano M.D.

Carole Colgate Romano, M.D. passed away at home surrounded by family and loved ones on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at the age of 72. Carole is preceded in death by her parents Dr. Samuel Romano and Josephine Colgate Romano and brother Samuel A. Romano, Jr. (Jean). She is survived by her nephews Samuel A. Romano III and John C. Romano (Steffanie); niece Gabbie Romano Hiraga (Eric) ; great-nephew John Andrew Davis Romano; lifelong friend Debbie Mercier. Dr. Romano attended Metairie Park Country Day School and the University of Texas. Dr. Romano attended LSU Medical School 1965-1969. She did an internship at Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. She returned to New Orleans and completed a Radiology Residency at Charity Hospital. Dr. Romano specialized in angiography. Dr. Romano also served as Chief Radiologist at US Public Health Service Hospital in the 1970’s. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
