Charles L. Booksh, Jr.

Charles L. Booksh, Jr. born June 7, 1939 in New Orleans, LA passed away at home on January 28, 2024 at the age of 84. He is a graduate of Scared Heart High School, and also served in the National Guard after graduating. He later began working for the United States Postal Service for thirty two years, until his retirement. He was a parishioner at St. Philip Neri Church. Charles enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching football, dancing, and fishing. He was always ready to tell a funny joke, because he loved to make people laugh. He also loved a good nap! He was a loving husband, the best daddy, a proud Paw Paw, and will be missed very much. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Louis Booksh, Sr. and Frances Lazaro Booksh. He is survived by the love of his life for fifty years, Simone Guichet Booksh; daughter, Tara Booksh Barnhart (Scott); grandchildren, Taylor and Lexi Barnhart; sister, Fran Cranford; brothers, Larry Booksh (Cheryl) and Ronald Booksh (Bonnie), and the copious amount of friends that he considered family. Service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd New Orleans, LA 70124.Visitation will begin at 10:00AM followed by a Mass at 12:00PM.
