I'm sooo sorry to hear that Claire passed away. She was married to my late cousin Ray for many years. He was the only love of her life.  So, Claire was my cousin.  I loved our visits where we would sit and talk for hours, reminiscing on family members. We would call and check on each other between visits. About 12 years ago,  she wanted to cook a special meal for my late husband Alvin and me. She fixed a delicious spaghetti dinner with the best sausage and meatballs.  She said she cooked that sauce for 6 hours. Claire was very loving and thoughtful.  I will miss her always. I'm thankful she was in my life.

The best memories are just watching how much my Aunt Claire adored my Uncle Ray. You could tell she loved and appreciated him for providing a life of comfort for her.  Even 25 years, after he passed, he still provided for her.  Aunt Claire lived with my grandparents, Raymond & Justine Schuler, they loved her too. Her sister-in-law, Shirley Schuler, planned Aunt Claire's wedding.  Aunt Claire looked like a real live doll.  I treasured every gift she made me. For my wedding she made me a frame box with a chicken setting on 2 eggs, the caption was "WELCOME TO MY NEST". I loved that gift! She knew I loved cats, so she made me a BIG beautiful white ceramic cat, it was perfect, just like she was.  Chocolate chip mint ice cream was our favorite. I love you, still. Tontinette

A memory or more... my first memory of my aunt claire and uncle ray was being at their wedding about 1960, i was about 5-6 yrs. old. my first dog was prince. given to me by aunt claire and uncle ray, a german shepard, male, when i was about 12 yrs. old, prince, son of Queenie, which i had for approximately 14 years.  i went fishing with my uncle ray and grandfather, raymond k schuler in the boat. those were wonderful times from my youth. i remember my uncle ray bringing me to one of the first saints football games too. wow. 1967-68. i also remember my uncle ray having a 1955 chevy red and white bel-air coupe. on cameron street. i also was there during hurricane Betsy, when it flooded and uncle ray came to my house on franklin avenue to assist us. he even got me a couple of jobs when i was married doing concrete work. wonderful folks and family. my aunt claire even bought me a record of the batman theme song. great. i was young. i wish i had more tangible things to remember them by, besides just memories. i am now 68 yrs.old and have been a high school science teacher for 8 yrs. retired i think uncle ray and grandparents would be proud.  love, justin henne

I lived next door to Claire for almost five years, we instantly became the best of friends.  She and the hold family treated me as part of the family. We visited almost every day.  A very special lady to me. I miss her every day and I find myself talking to her everyday.  I love you Claire.
