

Corinne Palmer Zimmermann passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at the age of 88. A lifelong resident of Lakeview, Corinne made her home there for 57 years. She attended McDonough High School and began her career working in a jewelry store before continuing her professional life at First National Bank of Commerce, which later became Chase Bank.
Corinne was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, John Samuel Zimmermann Jr., whom she loved dearly; her son, Christopher Zimmermann; her parents, Anna Gristina Palmer and Michael George (Kaitdolf) Palmer; her sister, Ella Brakefield; and her brother, Nicholas “Nicky” Palmer.
She is survived by her children, John S. Zimmermann III, Corinne Zimmermann Wyss, and Catherine Zimmermann Roark; her cherished grandchildren, John, Philip, and Elisabeth Roark, and Jacob, Jonathan, and Sarah Schoenick; and her great-grandchildren, Philip Roark Jr. and Ainsley Roark. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert Palmer, Michael G. Palmer, Juliet Talcott, and Kinta Taquino.
Corinne will be remembered for her deep love of family, her devotion to God, and the joy she found in caring for her family, tending to her garden, and being involved in her church. She had a sweet tooth and a warm spirit, and she brought comfort and kindness to those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation for family will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park Cemetery.
