Cox W. Owen

Cox W. Owen passed away at his home in Diamondhead, MS, on May 27, 2025, at the age of 56. He was born on September 23, 1968, in New Orleans, Louisiana. After earning his master’s degree from Tulane University, he began a career as a financial consultant. He was a member of Diamondhead Country Club. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, George W. Owen, Jr.; mother, Evelyn Landrieu; and brother, Greyson Brantley.

Cox is survived by his companion, Melanie Lamb; stepfather, Keith Landrieu; sister, Chélyn Brantley

(Todd Wiley); brother, George W. Owen, III “Trey”; cousins, Allison Barca (Larry) and Joseph Denny (Terri); aunts, Judy Stewart and Marilyn Schoen; niece, Ivy Owen; nephew, Blaine Brantley; extended family and friends, Matt and Ashley Chisesi, Bentley and Aston Chisesi, Ty and Karsen Lamb, and Sadie and Kyler Magnon; as well as his beloved dog, José.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1 PM with a memorial service to follow in the chapel at 2 PM. Cox will be laid to rest in Metairie Cemetery immediately following the service.
