Dolores Duet Rios

Doris “Dolores” Duet Rios, 83 years old, was at home surrounded by her loving family when she peacefully entered into heaven on Friday, July 31, 2015. Dolores was a beautiful devoted loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Dolores was preceded in death by her precious loving son, Darryl Verret, his late father and her late former husband, Walter Verret, and her late loving parents, Joseph Duet and Mae Duroncelet Duet. Left to cherish and honor her memory and legacy are her children: Cynthia Duncan Walters and Sandra Lee Duncan, daughters of the late Milton Duncan; Daniel Verret, son of the late Walter Verret; Mitchell Rios, Michael Rios, and Delores Rios Barocco, sons and daughter of the late Abel “Sonny” Rios; Lisa Toomajan Quigley, daughter of the late Mardoony “Mardy” Toomajan. Dolores was proud of her 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Also her loving siblings, Oscar Duet, Leatrice DiGiovanni, and nieces and nephews. Dolores had a beautiful and loving heart and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Dolores made a difference in this world and never knew a stranger. She was the “Wind Beneath Our Wings”. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial gathering at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
