Dominick Joseph (D.J.) Matranga a native of New Orleans and long time resident of Harahan, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in Irving, Texas, at 63 years of age. D.J. is the beloved husband of the late Yvonne Amedeo Matranga. He is the son of the late Salvador Matranga and Dorothy B. Matranga Iannazzo. He is survived by and the father of Christopher Matranga (fiancé Vanessa Aranda) and Melody Matranga (fiancé Jeremy Rivette), proud Grandpa of Damien Schuetter and Ava Rivette, brother of Jo Ann Matranga Castine. D.J. is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park.
