He was born on December 31, 1946 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late John Herman Creighton and Josephine Lorio Creighton. He resided in Chalmette, Louisiana for 72 years.
Devoted and loving husband of the late Janet A. Creighton; they were married for 52 years.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Nicole Creighton Plunkett; her spouse, Dr. William G. Plunkett; son, Donald Anthony Creighton, Jr. and his spouse, Susan H. Creighton; grandchildren, Alyce Plunkett, Toby and Layla Creighton; twin brother, Ronald Creighton; sister, Maryann Creighton Robeson; and brother, John Creighton and his spouse Rossana Creighton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Chalmette. Donald retired as a welder with Domino Sugar after 42 years.
Donald will be remembered as a devoted Christian and a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. His family and friends meant everything to him.
Services will be at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124, on Friday, February 4, 2022. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a memorial mass at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
