Doris Bergstein Cantor

Doris Bergstein Cantor, was born on June 12th, 1939 in Pittsburgh, PA. She passed away at home in Metairie with her loving family by her side on December 11th, 2022. Doris will be remembered by her daughter, Debbie, three sons, Harry, Howard, and Mark, as well as her sister and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Saul, her parents, Gertrude and Samuel, and her brother, Stanley. Doris was the first female boxing judge and was known for her beauty, kindness, vivacious personality, dancing talent and above all her selflessness. She will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022 at The New Beth Israel Cemetery at 4400 Elysian Fields Avenue at 11:00am. Visitation will follow at the Rothschild residence at 1:00pm. The family would like to thank Rabbi Yossi Nemes and Chanie Nemes for their loving support and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chabad of Metairie in Doris’s name.
