Earl J. Janneck

He leaves behind the love of his life and cherished wife of 70 years, Betty Janneck. He is also survived by his devoted children Kim Janneck (Sid), Kit McMahan (Jim), Kevin Janneck (Peggy), Kelly Janneck (David) and daughter-in-law, Tessie Janneck. He will be remembered lovingly by his grandchildren, Whitney Salone (Anthony), Tyler McMahan (Angela), Dylan McMahan (Lauran), Jessica Janneck (Ben), Marcus Campo (Heather) and Canyon Janneck (Autumn) as well as fifteen great-grandchildren, including his special little dancing partner, Peyton, and several nieces and nephews. Earl is also survived by his sister, Dolores Oster (of the late Lawrence Oster).

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl L. Janneck, Sr. and Alma Quintana Janneck, brother, Carl L. Janneck, Jr., sister, Gloria Blue, his beloved son, Kirk Janneck, and cherished grandson, Sidney J. Bothman, IV.

Earl was born in New Orleans and lived most of his life in St. Bernard Parish with his wife, Betty, raising their five kids, until after Hurricane Katrina, when they relocated to Baton Rouge. Earl enjoyed his long-standing career as a Vice-President/Loan Officer with Peoples Bank & Trust in Chalmette for 30 years serving the St. Bernard Parish community.

While Earl was a devoted son, loyal brother, and wonderful father and grandfather, his most significant role and what truly defined him was being a faithful and loving husband to Betty Janneck for 70 years. Theirs was truly a love story for the ages.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Nurse Hope at the Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice for her attentive and loving care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a funeral mass beginning at 2:00 PM.

Earl will be laid to rest at Metairie Cemetery.
