

Edmond Andrew Schambach, aged 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in Hammond, LA. Edmond was a native New Orleanian and graduated from Warren Easton High School. Edmond worked at The Granada Movie Theater in his youth. He was proud to serve his country as a Corporal in the US Marine Corp, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Edmond later worked for many years with Gwinco Realty in New Orleans, followed by working part time as a stagehand for conventions and shows. He had a lifelong love of fishing. Following Katrina, Edmond moved to Hammond, LA.
Edmond is survived by his son, David E. Schambach (Stacy) of Covington, LA; daughters, Brenda S. Jones (Rhea) of Hammond, LA. and Becky B. Young of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Andrew M. Jones, Jennifer R. Jones, Kyle D. Schambach (Megan), Grayson S. Young (Connor), and Katherine Y. Wetekamm (Kale); sister, Lynn Delaney (Ed); and three great-grandchildren.
Edmond was preceded in death by his wives, Berna L. Schambach and Beatrice Fontana Schambach; sons, Steven W. Schambach and Bill M. Bond; brothers, Edgar L. Schambach, Sr. and Leonard H. Schambach; and one sister that did not survive infancy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 10:00AM.
