Edwin E. Geiling, Jr.

Edwin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Carolyn Carlos Geiling; his sisters, Barbara Buford and Linda Trosclair; and his parents, Edwin, Sr. and Dorothy Buhler Geiling.

He is survived by his three children, Steven Geiling (Karen), Randy Geiling, and Leslie Hobson (Daniel); his grandchildren, Nicholas Geiling (Charlayne), Kimberly Smith (Scottie), Jessica Shelton (Michael), Allison Hobson, Lauren Hobson, and Macy Hobson; his great-grandchildren, Logan, Peyton, and McKenzie Woodson, Liem and Owen Smith, Averie, Aubrie, and Addeline Shelton, and Ryan Hebert; his two sisters, Lorraine Wood and Lorretta Durand; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edwin was born in New Orleans on November 9, 1936. He was raised in Metairie and graduated from Metairie High School. He owned and operated the family business, Geiling Auto Service. Edwin enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and trips to the casino. He also loved gardening, especially tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 12:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM. The interment will follow the chapel service at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
