Born May 8, 1928 in Painesville, OH, Betty was a daughter of the late Robert Oliver and Rose Marie Zack Preston. In 1930, her family moved to Aberdeen, MD. She attended area schools and graduated in 1945 from Aberdeen High School. Betty then worked for 10 years as a secretary at the Aberdeen Proving Ground where she met her future husband. On January 23, 1954, she was united in marriage to Albert J. Guillot in Aberdeen, MD. In 1954, Betty and Albert moved to Baton Rouge, LA, where Albert pursued a Mechanical Engineering degree from LSU. After his graduation in 1959, the couple moved to the New Orleans, LA, area. They both shared a love for family and decided to start their own. As a mother she was generous and loving. When she became a grandmother she was thrilled about her family growing even bigger. Betty loved cooking and baking. Lots of her recipes are being used by many today. In her free time, she enjoyed playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, listening to music and dancing. She will be greatly missed by her family who adore her with all of their hearts.
