Elvera Bullitt Rantz

Elvera Bullitt Rantz passed away on May 10, 2025, at the age of 98. She was born on October 29, 1926, in New Orleans, LA. She graduated from Redemptorist High School. Elvera worked as an Executive Assistant at Delgado Community College and was a parishioner of Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church.

Elvera is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, August Rantz, Jr.; parents, Edward F. Bullitt and Georgette Bullitt; son, August Rantz, III; sister, Thelma Brindell (Karl); and brother, Edward Bullitt (Delores).

Elvera is survived by son, Edward Rantz (Helen); daughter-in-law, Janet Rantz (August III); grandchildren, Ron Rantz, Edward Rantz, Jr. (Melessa), Melissa Peltier (Wade), Erin Hauck (Bryant), August Rantz IV (Andrea), and Emily Van Lare (Case); great-grandchildren, Madison Rantz, Holly Rantz, Caroline Rantz, Blaine Jacob (Lauren), Abby Barras, Rebekah Peltier, Braedyen Peltier, Reagan Rantz, August Rantz, V, Jackson Rantz, Adeline Van Lare, Case Joseph Van Lare, Annabelle Van Lare, Audrey Van Lare, Riley Hauck; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124, on Wednesday May 14, 2025, at 1:00 pm. The visitation will begin from 11:00 a.m. until mass time. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the WWII Museum.
