Echelard. Brother of the late Rosina LeBlanc, Pearl Lopes, Armel, Lester, and Alvin Echelard. Father of Ernest J. Echelard, Jr. (Jolene), Jeanette E. Gueydan (Steve), Glenda E. Bradley (Bob), and Rene J. Echelard (Angelle). Loving Papa to grandchildren Kelly Matherne, Kory and Kyle Echelard; Janel Gantner, Steve Gueydan, Jr, and Paulette Dolese; Vincent LeBlanc and Arielle Smith; Jeremy, Jessica, and Jennie Echelard. Proud great grandfather to 19 great grandchildren. Born in Pointe Coupee Parish on False River, resident of Metairie for 55 years, parishioner of St. Christopher Church. Veteran of U.S. Coast Guard. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
