

Faustina “Conchita” Conception Salgado Keen ,Age 90, of Metairie, Louisiana, entered into eternal rest peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 8:45 PM. Faustina was born in Havana, Cuba, on April 19, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Carlota (Mima) and Jose Salgado. She moved to New Orleans full of hope and proudly became a United States Citizen in 1955! She has been a resident of Jefferson Parish for the last 46 years. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was always able to find the best in people; no matter what the circumstance. She always had a smile on her face and loved to laugh. Conchita was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Wilbert “Leon” Keen and three brothers, Pepito, Massimito and Julito Salgado. Conchita is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Catalina & Sidney Fuller and Linda & Alan Nicolich, Sr. Her two sisters, Catalina Salgado and Consuelo Salgado Sardinas and, “her greatest love of all,” her grandson, Alan J. Nicolich, Jr.
She also leaves to cherish her memories, her step-grandchildren, J. Chad Fuller, S. Adam Fuller, Christi Fuller Hardy and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, on Saturday, August 1st from 11 AM to 1 PM. A catholic mass will begin at 1 PM and internment will immediately follow. Flowers/plants can be sent to the funeral home or donations can be made on behalf of Faustina C.
