

Fay Beth Frey Wedig passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at the age of 91, with her family around her. Born in New Orleans, LA on July 21, 1927, Fay Beth graduated from Newcomb College as Phi Beta Kappa. She was the chairman of the NOMA Volunteer Committee from 1976-77, and served as a docent for several decades and volunteered at WYES- Channel 12 for many years. Beloved wife of the late Harold Harvey Wedig. Daughter of the late Elsie Graff Frey and late Frank Peter Frey. Loving mother of Eric M. Wedig (Regina Scotto), Fr. Mark E. Wedig, O.P., Elisabeth Frey Wedig and Brian M. Wedig (Carol Clesi). Sister of the late Walter Graff Frey. Adoring grandmother of Paul Wedig and Decorio Wedig.
Fay Beth was an avid bridge player and long–time member of the American Contract Bridge League. Fay Beth and Harold, along with their life-long friends, Henry and Norma Haydel, Fred and Del Lozes, and Ned and Mary Lou Conroy traveled the world together which Fay Beth carefully catalogued in a great collection of photos and shared experiences.
Fay Beth and Harold were recipients of the St. Dominic Service Award from the Southern Dominican Province, OP for their lives of faith and generosity.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Southern Dominican Province, USA and Ashley Soule Conroy Foundation are preferred.
