Felix J. Babin

Felix J. Babin passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 97 years old. He was born in Raceland, Louisiana, on August 21, 1927. After graduating high school, he went to trade school to obtain a plumber’s certification. He joined the Steamfitters Local 60 and worked as a plumber until his retirement. In his free time, he loved hunting, fishing, and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Alice Waguespack Babin; parents, Dalmas A. Babin and Inez Robichaux Babin; brothers, Eugene J. Babin, Joseph Babin, Jerry Babin, and Robert Babin; grandchild, Rebecca K. Morrill; and grandparents, Clovis and Florentine Babin.

Felix is survived by his children, Steven Babin (Nancy), Kathleen Morrill (Gregory), Michael Babin, Pamela Hosch (Paul), Daniel Babin (Anita), Linda Margavio (Mark), and Karen Babin (Terri Foster); sister, Joyce Babin Dufrene; grandchildren, Scott, Jennifer, Aimee, Ross, Kevin, Laura, Benjamin, Gregory, Michael Paul, Meghan, Justin, Alyssa, Mary, Andrew, and Dylan; as well as 22 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caregiving staff at Heritage Manor.

In lieu of flowers, please consider having a Mass said in his honor.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd in New Orleans, on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Visitation will begin at 12 PM with a Mass following at 2 PM. Felix will be laid to rest in All Saints Mausoleum immediately after the Mass. Afterwards, guests are invited to a reception in the event center of the funeral home.
