

Felix “ReRe” Lucas Puccio, age 96, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, leaving behind a shocked and heartbroken family. Felix, a lifelong New Orleanian, was born on January 8, 1927, to the late Joseph V. and Rose Borrello Puccio. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony J. Puccia, Joseph V. Puccia, and sister, Bernice P. Kettenring. Felix was a devoted son, brother and uncle who lived with his sister, Bernice, helping to raise her daughters, Debbie and Denise. A professional painter and woodworker, Felix was employed as a Painting and Maintenance Supervisor by various hospitals and hotels, namely, Mercy Hospital and The Roosevelt / Fairmont Hotel. After retirement, Felix enjoyed woodworking in his garage designing and building crucifixes, holy water fonts and other religious items.
Felix, called ReRe, taught three generations of nieces and nephews to count, add and subtract while teaching them to play cards. He instilled in them a love of story and history by entertaining them with stories of growing up Italian in Mid-City during the Great Depression and World War II. ReRe’s family will greatly miss him and his love, care, protectiveness, stories, humor, sarcasm, coffee, breakfasts and his Italian ways!
Felix is survived by his loving nieces and nephews and their extended families: Deborah K. Lobrano (Joe), Denise K. Smith (Fred), Annette P. Incardona (Barbara), Tony J. Puccia (Susan), Joseph V. Puccia (Ann), Pam P. Nemeth (Dale), and Paulette P. Costa; cousins, Sam J. Grapusa (Melba), Patsy Borrello (Stephen dec.), Johanna Lea and JoAnn Senko. ReRe was a beloved grandfather to Rosalind L. Murray (Brandon), Meghan L. Lee (Paul), Kett Lobrano, Ann S. Ferguson (Kris), and Jared R. Smith (Linay); a devoted great-grandfather to Brandon and Maggie Murray, Ava and Lucy Grizzaffi, and Gavin and Hollyn Smith; and a loving great-uncle to Earl Incardona (Erin), Joey and Hailey Puccia, and Nicholas, Aiden, and Hannah Puccia.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 19, 2023, at St. Dominic Church, 775 Harrison Avenue, New Orleans 70124. Visitation will be at Church from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans 70124. In lieu of flowers, masses or prayer intentions are preferred.
