Francis T. Bucher

A proud U.S. Navy Veteran, he served in the Pacific Theater of World War II. In his professional career, he was an international freight forwarder and President of H.S. Renshaw, Inc., where he was active in numerous international trade and transportation organizations in New Orleans. He spent his personal time building friendships, fishing and telling stories.

Francis was married for 69 years to the love of his life, Margie Champagne Bucher, who passed away in November. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidonia Myers Bucher and Theodore P. Bucher; his sisters, with whom he was inseparable, Josephine L. Bucher, and Sidonia Bucher Jaeger (Richard); as well as his lifelong friend, Lynwood “Buddy” Adams.

Frank is survived by his children, Christopher (Shawn), Gregory (Susie) and Patrice Bucher; grandchildren, Christopher Theodore “Teddy” Bucher, Jr., Melissa Bucher (Nathan Elowe), Timothy Bucher (Megan), Stephanie Held (Jacob), and Allison Bucher; and great grandchildren Madeleine Bucher and Earl-Francis Bucher Elowe.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday, January 13, 2025, at St. Benilde Church (1901 Division St., Metairie, LA) at 1:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Lake Lawn Park.

The family would like to thank Lauren Pennington, as well as the staff of The Blake at Colonial Club, for their love and care.

Masses are preferred in lieu of flowers.
