Frank A. Simone

Frank Anthony Simone passed away on June 9, 2022, at the age of 92. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Stefano Simone and Mary Calamusa Simone. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 72 years, the love of his life, Mamie Luke Simone.

Frank lived a long, full and accomplished life. He marched with the Pete Fountain Half Fast Marching Club for several years, was a member of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Commission, was one of the founders of Paradise Lanes and was an avid bowler.

He and Mamie loved adventure and travel. They took countless trips to places all around the world with family and friends including Italy, France, Greece, Alaska, China, Russia, Iceland, Istanbul and Argentina. They loved fishing in Cocodrie, snow skiing in Colorado and trips to Las Vegas.

Frank was the head of the family. He was tough and sharp, and known for his good advice. But he also knew how to have a good time and was the life of the party. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Frank is preceded in death by sister Rosemary Simone Daigrepont; brothers Martin and Joseph Simone.

Frank is survived by his daughter Linda Simone Dalton (Charles); son Frank A. Simone, Jr. (Annelise); grandchildren Jennifer Dalton McGuinness (Patrick) and Jessica Dalton Woodward (Shawn); great grandchildren Emmy Woodward, Brynn Woodward, Mamie McGuinness and James McGuinness; and step great grandchildren Delaney McGuinness and Tucker Mcguinness along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Zaveri, Dr. Tilton, Dr. Julka and Dr. Kenneth Smith for their father’s care.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 beginning at 9:00am followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00am in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
