Frederick J. Mire

Frederick Joseph Mire, 84, passed away on September 13, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marion W. Mire; his children, Michael Mire (Regina) and Brenda Mire Hillburn (George); grandchildren Melinda M. Orellana (Alex), Lauren, Holly and Olivia Hillburn; great-grandchildren, Jillian, Adriana and Caitlin Orellana; and sisters, Claudia Mire Thompson and Rosalie Mire Abadie. Frederick is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Laurent (LuLu) Mire and Rosalie Picou Mire. He was a Korean War Veteran in the United States Army, a long time employee of Amoco Production Company, the President of the Amoco New Orleans Alumni Club, parishioner of Divine Mercy Catholic Church and a member of the Chateau Estates Golf and Country Club. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University and life-long L.S.U. Tiger. Frederick will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 12:00 NOON at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans. A visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Kenner, LA.
