Garry Michael Beckman

Garry Michael Beckman passed away at the age of 70 on December 19, 2022. Garry was born on February 6th 1952 in New Orleans, LA to Isabel and Lawrence Beckman. He attended Annunciation Grammer School, and Holy Cross High School, where he was a member of the 1970 State Championship Stage Band. He attended LSU NO, and graduated with degrees in both Management and Marketing. He was employed at Halter Marine, Treasure Chest Casino, Home Depot, LA Department of Health Hospitals, and the Fair Grounds. He was an avid tennis player, and a riding member of the Krewe of Endymion for many years.

Garry was also a member of the Marquette Chapter of the Knights of Columbus, and St. Ann’s Parish in Metairie. He is survived by his brother Dr. Lawrence Beckman, and his nieces Lauren Beckman and Meghan Ricketts. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

A Memorial Mass will be offered for the repose of the soul of Garry Michael Beckman at St. Ann Catholic Church and Shrine, at 10:00 am on February 6, 2023 on his 71st birthday. The address is 3601 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie, LA 70006. It is located off Meadowdale Street and south of West Esplanade. Interment will follow the mass at St. Vincent De Paul’s Cemetery No. 3, 1401 Louisa Street, New Orleans, LA 70117.
