I miss you so much, grandma. I think of you all the time and catch myself laughing often, because I have so many fun memories of you. I remember watching Jerry Springer with you as a kid, even though mom said I couldn’t, but you loved the show and couldn’t resist putting it on. I remember getting off the bus at your house one day after school, and you weren’t answering the doorbell for what seemed like an eternity, and after peeking through windows and ringing a few more times, you finally answered laughing that you had fallen asleep. I remember rubbing your neck when I would cuddle you and you would fuss because you hated it. We would always laugh about that. I remember you kept cans of condensed milk in your pantry, and every time we got snowballs you would grab a can. We both loved our sweets. I’ll keep memories like this close to my heart forever. You’re my angel now and I can’t wait to see you again. I love you endlessly. 

Grandma, 
Thank you for, unlimited amount of love, too many cheesy jokes, laughter, and so much more. You were always there for me when I was dealing with a lot. When I was in the first grade me, my dad, and Raine, moved in with you and grandpa, it was my first Christmas away from my mom, you gave me the best Christmas anyone could ask for. I was so confused why I my mom was in Montana and I was in Louisiana. But you were there for me, from me doing your makeup (and accidentally putting eye liner on your lips!), to going to Chuck E. Cheese’s, you always made me feel at home. I remember Christmas  2018 at Nanny’s  ugly sweater party me and my mom brought you some black licorice ,and you and I were sitting in the recliner together and eating them. I remember every time when I went to your house me, you, and treble, laid in your bed watching the bravo tv channel, eating coffee ice cream, and drinking Sam’s diet cola. I remember me and Maddie used to go and your room and try to sneak up on you while you were sleeping, but you (or treble) always caught us crawling to the foot of your bed. I remember you always gave me your candy, (especially the good and plenties,) But only when you had two boxes because those were one of your favorites, next to the Jujubes. I remember when I had scary dreams you always made me feel safe. I’m gonna miss making brownies together and when you always double dip your finger in the uncooked batter and telling me the bacteria will always bake out, and it did. But all I really want to say, is thank you. Thank you for loving me, keeping my secrets, playing with me and Maddie, for always making me feel at home. I will always miss you.

How do you describe the person who was like a mom to you, who cared for you like one of her own? How do you describe your best friend, your rock, the person who gave you strength and courage? 
I am just now starting to process everything. Madison has been my saving grace since we lost you. She has kept me busy, as usual, and I’ve had to put on a brave face for her. 
My daughter and I have lived with my grandma and grandpa for many years. Thank you for taking us in and loving us so much. We are going to miss you dearly, Grandma. We shared so many memories, lots of laughter and even some tears. We were there for each other, we leaned on each other. Life isn’t always easy, but my grandma embodied strength. 
I’m going to miss our talks, hearing her shuffle through the house. I’m going to miss her hugs; she gave the best hugs. 
I’m going to miss decorating the house with her for the holidays, the silly disagreements we would have over how we wanted to decorate the tree. The tinsel, Oh, the tinsel! 
I’m going to miss pranking each other with Halloween decorations. Grandma liked the all the scary Halloween decorations and I liked the cute ones. One day I came home and she had bought this creepy doll to hang up in the living room. I said “what on earth is that, that has to be the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen”. She laughed and said she “liked her doll”. The next day I came home and walked into my bedroom and when I flipped on the switch there was that creepy doll hanging from my ceiling fan!  From then on every Halloween we would prank each other with that doll. 
Grandma was truly one of a kind. My daughter Madison said, “She makes me smile when she’s there and I love her every day. She makes me grin in my soul and in my heart”. I couldn’t have said it better, Madison. 



Mom,  You will always and forever be in my heart and thoughts.  I will miss you dearly. Thanks for all you did for us, we always felt protected, loved and cared for. I have a lifetime of memories with you that will stay with me forever. I love and miss you already. Love Kary 

Grandma, 
It still doesn’t feel real that you’re gone, but I’m so incredibly thankful for you and the time we had together. You taught me the meaning of unconditional love through the way that you loved me. Looking back and thinking of all the memories I have of you over the course of my short life, I can see it so clearly now.  It was always the little things that you did that showed me just how much you loved me. It was the way you use to let me fix your hair and do your makeup, and how you’d let me watch CSI with you way before I was old enough. It was how you’d make grandpa sleep on the couch so I could sleep with you when I’d stay over, and how you’d make my favorite meal every time I came to visit. Your love was unconditional. You never judged me or expected anything in return. You encouraged me to be the best version of myself, to travel and to experience all that life has to offer. You accepted me as I was, and I don’t know who I would be today had I not experienced that kind of love. They say a grandma’s love is like no other, and I’m just now realizing how true that is, so thank you. Thank you for loving me so purely. I will love and miss you forever.

My Dearest Mom,
Words cannot express how much I love and miss you.  You were the best mother ever and I will never forget you and the many fun times we had together. Your encouraging words and loving hugs that only you knew how to give will forever be remembered and felt. I know that you are my Guardian Angel. Thank you for always loving me and teaching me how to become a mother myself.  I’m so happy you were in the hospital room with me and David, Sr to witness David, Jr being born. That’s a memory we always cherished together.  Until we meet again.

My sincerest condolences to Gayle's family.  Gayle and I went to John McDonogh Senior High school and Gayle will be missed at the 60th class reunion on April 6.  She will be missed by her classmates.  I will ask for a moment of silence at the reunion in remembrance of Gayle.  RIP my old friend.  

To The Family:
I am sorry for your loss the Bible is very comforting to all of us during our time of loss. I  think about the scripture John 5:28,29 which states "all those in the memorial tombs will come back to life again." Also, Revelation 21:3,4 where it states "death will be no more nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”  These and other scriptures encourages  me with my loss.
