Gerard "Jerry" Frey

Gerard “Jerry” Frey passed away on December, 22, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father Madison W. Frey, his mother Mildred Slough Frey and his brother John H. Frey. Jerry was born on November 8, 1937 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

He never met a stranger in life and he had an incredible sense of humor. Jerry’s favorite saying each day was “Another day in paradise.”

Jerry is survived by his loving wife Cecilia “Terrie” Hughes-Frey, his children Perry Frey (Patrice), Laurie Martin , Larry Frey (Bonnie), Step Children Kim Hughes, Terrie Hughes, Christie Hughes, William Hughes IV (Victoria) and Mark Hughes (Marilyn), a nephew, Harvey Newton (Becky) and their children Marla, Adam, Tyler and Audrey, Grandchildren Jarred Frey, Jonathan Frey, Zoe Frey, Emily Martin, Bryce Martin, Ashley Frey, Callie Frey, Crystal Hoppe (Gary), Nicholas Tynes, Brittney Hughes, William Hughes V, Joshua Hughes and Mark Hughes Jr., Great Grandchildren Trey, Victoria and William Hoppe.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass located in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 12pm. Visitation will begin at 10 am. Interment will take place at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Tammany Humane Society in Jerry’s name.
