Helen S. Cusumano

Helen S. Cusumano, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. A native of New Orleans, Helen was born on March 18, 1935 to the late Elwood Spradley and Clare Taylor Spradley. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 17 years, Anthony “Tony” Cusumano, Sr; her grandchildren, Terrence Cotaya, Jr. and Stormy Decker (survived by John); and her sister, Glenda S. DeLong.

Helen is survived by her four daughters, Barbara Bellaci (Ronnie), Victoria “Vicki” Cotaya (Terry), Patricia “Patty” Cowart (David) and Diana “Dee Dee” Cato (Kenny); her grandchildren, Wendy Maloney (Dan), Ryan Bellaci, Keith Bellaci, Melissa “Missy” Augustin (Sean), Jessica Cotaya, Heather Cowart, Erick Cowart (Shirley), Brigitte Rushing (John), Charles “Buddy” Edwards and James “J.D.” Keyes (Jamie), Gary Cato (Michelle), Wesley Cato (Kristen) and Billy Cato (Sheryl); 31 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; her godchild, Penny W. Blanchard and a host of other relatives.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be held at St. Clement of Rome Church, 3978 W. Esplanade Ave., Metairie, LA 70002 on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation at church will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the staff at the Lake Villa House for all their compassion and care provided to Helen.
