

Helen Lossett Nasser, (1/17/1926 - 10/3/2020 Happy Heavenly 95th Birthday), 94 years old, of Moody, AL, and formerly of Terre Haute, IN, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, October 3, 2020. Helen was born in Picayune, MS, on January 17, 1926, to Alphonse Lossett and Dona Evans Gordon Lossett. As a young lady, seeking a life of new adventure, Helen bravely traversed the lands westward and found her new home in Los Angeles, California. Within a short time, she met and married her future husband, James "Jimmy" Atala Nasser on January 24, 1944. Shortly thereafter, she moved back to Picayune, MS, to be closer to her family until her husband, Jimmy, return from WWII. In 1945, after Jimmy returned from the war, Helen moved with Jimmy to his hometown of Terre Haute, IN. Helen lived in New Orleans, LA, until Hurricane Katrina forced her to relocate and she then decided to move to Birmingham, AL to be closer to her family. Helen is a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, a lifetime member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) and the Pearl Harbor Survivors (PHS) and an honorary Life Member of the Syrian Lebanese American Club of New Orleans (SLAC). Helen was very active throughout the many years on Mother Earth and was a gourmet cook and loved to share the fruits of her labor with all her crossed her path. Survivors include the loves of her life: Jimmie Charles "JC" Nasser, of Birmingham, AL, Eugene Richard Nasser (Maria), of Monroe Township, NJ; , Sandra Kay Nasser Silberzahn (George), of Wilmington, DE, and Deborah Ann Nasser, of Wilmington, DE; six grandchildren: Shawn Kelly Bobnak (Jerry), of West Chester, PA; Eugene "Gene" Richard Nasser, Jr. (Sara), of Jamesburg, NJ; Michael "Mike" Nasser (Blanky), of Hayward, CA; Christopher "Chris" Nasser (Kesha), of Monroe Township, NJ; Dawn Christine Nasser Moraski (Roger), of Birmingham, AL; Heather Lynne Nasser VanBuren (Todd), of Peoria, AZ; seven great-grandchildren: Stephen Moraski; Cameron Nasser; Grace Katherine Nasser; Matthew Nasser; Caleb VanBuren; Alexandria VanBuren; Michael VanBuren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Alphonse Lossett, Sr. (1971) and Dona Evans Gordon Lossett (1949), her loving husband James "Jimmy" Atala Nasser (April 04, 1992); her thirteen siblings Pearl Lossett Martin; Jack Dempsey Lossett; Alphonse "Sonny Boy" Lossett, Jr.; Gladys Lossett Soniat; Gloria Lossett Sparlin; Ira Alphonse Lossett, Sr.; LaUna Lossette Sahaqua; Minnie Mae Lossette O'Neill; David Lossett; Dorese Lossett; Luther Earl Lossett; Richard Lossett; Jimmy Lossett; her grandson Charles "Chuckie" Lee Kelly (08/28/2019); her sister-in-law Elaine Rose Nasser Maloof, of Terre Haute, IN; her brothers-in-law Otto Nasser, of Sherman Oaks, CA; Norman Nasser (aka Nazarr), of Hollywood, CA; her in-laws Shaheen Atalla Nasser (04/03/1969) and Rosemary S. Nasser (01/20/1925). Helen will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery located in New Orleans, LA,
