Imelda “Sissy” Emma Day, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the age of 70. She was born on October 20, 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Dewey W. Day, Jr. and Alice Imelda Guercio Day. She worked as a hair stylist and was a devout Catholic and was an avid doll collector. She will be remembered as a kind and gentle person whom everyone loved.
She is survived by: her sister, Alice F. Day; her brother, John J. Day; her sister-in-law, Jodie L. Day; her nieces, Kyle Grace Day, Molly Reagan Green, April R. Weaver, Tiffany L. Day, and Courtney E. Day; and her nephews, Peyton Hymel and Eli Hymel.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, La. 70124 with a Memorial Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
