J. David Wynot

David was predeceased by his parents Edgar Wynot and Isabelle Perkins O’Hara; stepfather Clarence E. O’Hara; and brothers Donald C. Sherman and William “Bill” Sherman. David is survived by his wife Deborah Wynot; children Edward “Ted” Wynot (Karyn), Alexandra V. Wynot, and David F. Wynot; grandchildren Genevieve, Addison, and Gavin; sister Sandra Faucheux (Steven); sister-in-law Gina Sensebe (Joseph); and a host of nieces and nephews.

David graduated from East Jefferson High School and attended the University of New Orleans and Delgado Community College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1977. David finished his long career in the Oil and Gas industry as a Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Designer. In his youth, he was a member of the Sea Scouts BSA, relishing their annual sailings to Florida and the Bahamas. David had a love of fishing, bodysurfing, swimming, and “tinkering” around the house. On Fall weekends, he enjoyed watching the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints football games.

Family and friends are invited to attend services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on July 27, 2024. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. with a memorial service at noon.
