Jacquelyn "Jackie" Aromy

Jacquelyn “Jackie” Aromy passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2022, surrounded by family, at the age of 92. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 31, 1930 to the late William Joseph Adragna Sr and Amy Treitler Adragna. She lived a life devoted to her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Being creative by nature she spent many years working as a floral designer creating beautiful arrangements and bouquets.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Edwin Alois Aromy, Jr.; son Glenn Aromy; grandson Kirk Aromy; brother Joseph Adragna; sister Faith Clouatre (Carlos); brothers-in-law Ed Koschmann and Francis Reilly; sister-in-law Marilyn Lichtenstein (Al).

Jackie is survived by her children Edwin “Ed” Alois Aromy III (Debbie), Holly (Aromy) Massicot, and Kim Aromy; grandchildren Lesley Porche, Ashley Schenck (Chris), Michelle Lignieres (Scott) and Kimberly Rivera (Jose); great-grandchildren Ricky, Noah, Carson, Carter, Miles and Josie; Sisters Jean Reilly, Marlene Koschmann, Olga Cocchiara (Chuck), brother William Adragna Jr (Judy) and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to come celebrate her life on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans. Visitation will begin at 11:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00pm. Interment will immediately follow in Metairie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Children’s Hospital New Orleans.
