Jake Brocato Jr.

Jake Brocato, Jr. passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn Hall Brocato. Jake is survived by his daughter Roseann Vesely (Michael); son Jake E. Brocato (Eileen); stepdaughters Melanie Daigle (Carroll) and Geralyn Bethancourt (Paul); sister Virginia Engeron ( the late Bert); grandchildren Maria Melerine (Scott), Kerri Lightel (Ricky), Tracy Jeanmarie (Dave), Thaddeus James Vesely, Adam Michael Vesely, and Jake P. Brocato (Cher); seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Jake is preceded in death by his parents Jake Brocato, Sr. and Angelina Menieuto Brocato; first wife Margaret Cuevas Heyl; daughters Brenda Long and Linda Brocato; son Anthony Brocato; siblings Salvador, Anthony, Joseph Brocato and Florence Grillot; granddaughter Lauren A. Brocato. During WWII he worked in the shipyards, and later went on to own a general contractor business, Cal-Mar Builders. Jake was a member of several organizations including Woodman of the World, Lions Club, and three Carnival Clubs. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 1:00pm.
