James Frank Olsen Jr.

James F. Olsen, Jr. passed away at his home in Metairie surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 29, 2016. He was 89. James is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sylvia Kuchler Olsen. He is also survived by his two daughters, Jamee Olsen Brewster and Beryl Olsen; son-in-law, Arthur J. Brewster; and grandchildren, Alexander, William and Nicholas Brewster. He was the oldest of 13 children, survived by his brothers, Leroy and Ronald Olsen; and sisters, Elaine Hatch, Jacqueline Grohowski, Cecelia Marrone and Joyce and Inez Olsen. James is preceded in death by his parents, Violet Moreau and James Olsen; his brothers, Lloyd, Albert and Clyde Olsen; and sisters, Marion Keppler and Coleen Elfret. James was a loving and devoted father, husband and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Serenity Hospice, Tami Knight and Beverly Dixon for their care and also to Donald Breaud for all of his help. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Metairie on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred.
