Jo Ann Lation

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Carmen Valentine Lation; her three sisters, Millerene Lation Hardy (Hillery Hardy, Sr.), Betty Lation Simmons (Charles Simmons), and Bertha Lation Delonde (Joseph Delonde); and her two brothers, Joseph Lation , Jr. (Johnnie Mae) and Raymond Lation, Sr. (Bernadette Smith).

Jo Ann is survived by her loving sister, Doris Jackson; her two nieces that she treated as her kids, Terese Simmons and Qiana Cressey Groves; and her nephew, Bryan Dabon, Jr. She is also survived by a host of other nieces and nephews.

Jo Ann was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 29, 1948. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Southern University and retired from the State of Louisiana where she was a supervisor of probation and parole.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00AM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM. The interment will follow the Mass at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery.
