Joan Carolyn Barnes passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024. She was born in Mobile, Alabama on August 18, 1943. After graduating, she entered the workforce. She worked as an LMT and medical assistant.
She is survived by her children, Betty Arant Johnston (the late Peter Johnston Sr.), Jennifer Barnes Cummings (David), Dale Arant (Katie), and Carl Arant (Dawn); grandchildren, April, Peter Jr., Victoria and Rose Johnston, Brittany, Ronald, Gabby, Madison, Bailey, and Karly Arant; great grandchildren, Ami, Jazlynn, Bryce, and Zachary; and siblings, Gloria, Johnnie Jr., Joyce, and Edna.
Joan was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Arant. First husband, Clarence Arant; second husband, John Barnes; mother, Goldie Lee Andrews; father, Johnnie Day; and step-father, Nick Andrews.
Her services will be held privately for immediate family only.
