Joan O'Toole Harvey

Joan Evelyn O'Toole Harvey passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 22, 1920, in New Orleans and was a resident of Metairie. Joan, age 96, is survived by her two sons, David Harvey of Loranger and Allen Harvey (Mercedes) of Hammond. She is also survived by grandchildren, Melissa (Eric) Killian, Amy (Al) LeBlanc, Kacie Harvey (Kevin Rainey), Jill (Marshall) DeSouge, Josh (Natalie) Harvey, Seth (Katie) Harvey, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Estefa, Victor and Paula Harvey, Mercie (Greg) Moser, Blake (Brooke) Durham and great-grandchildren, Conner, Riley, Hunter, Lane, Oliver, Elliot, Mary, Louise, Olivia, Carter David, Kellin Parker, Brody, Audrey and Charles. She is also survived by her brother William (Marcia) O'Toole. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen Harvey, Sr., and her two daughters, Mary Furtick and Corinne Harvey; her daughters-in-law, Margie Allen and Mary Todd and her grandson, Juan Harvey. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Corinne and William O'Toole and 7 sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Inurnment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael's Special School, 1522 Chippewa, NOLA 70130.
