Joan Marie Leeds

Joan Marie Leeds, a registered nurse died at 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was 89. Mrs. Leeds born in Oil City, Pennsylvania and resided in River Ridge for the past 43 years. She graduated from Jersey City State Teachers College and Jersey City Medical Center School of Nursing. Joan was a Corvette enthusiast and an active member in numerous clubs. Beloved wife of the late Warren W. Leeds, M.D. Daughter of the late Walter E. Sjoden and Marie Gansloser Sjoden. Loving mother of Robert Jerome Leeds (Jimmie), Michael Eric William Leeds and Mimi Leeds Ouiroga (Orlando). Sister of the late Eric Walter Sjoden. Grandmother of Krista Marie Ouiroga, Miguel Alexander Ouiroga, Ashley Michelle Raymond, Ray Patrick Raymond Jr., and Marcus Anthony Raymond. Also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with service to follow.
