

She was preceded in death by her second husband of 46 years, Donald Vernon Organ; her first husband, Robert William deVay; her parents, Frank and Lee Bonvan; and her grandsons, Jeremy Organ and Brandon Organ.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Leesa deVay (James); four sons, Frank deVay (Kerrie), Trevelan Organ (Shiho Omura), Coleman Organ, and Brooks Organ; six grandchildren, Yu Feng deVay, Jessica deVay Khalid (Omar), Stephanie deVay, Eric Shunsuke Omura, Katherine deVay, and Matthew Organ (Jessica); and five great-grandchildren, Luca deVay Khalid, Jacob Organ, Rock Organ, Jesse James Organ, and Penelope Organ.
Joan was born in New Orleans, where she resided for many years. She and Don renovated a second home in Maine, where they spent fun summers with family and friends. Joan was a devout Roman Catholic, a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Slidell, where she spent hours volunteering and singing in the choir. In addition, she was an accomplished artist and enjoyed painting landscapes and abstracts. Also, Joan loved dancing and supported her family as a ballet and dance instructor in her early years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Place in Slidell, on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00AM. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00AM. The interment will be private.
