Joe was a loving husband, father, and doting grandfather. He had a sense of humor that was undeniable. He would always aggravate or joke around with people that he liked. Joe was a fan of Tulane University and University of Alabama football. He worked at Michoud Boeing and was very proud of his part in building the first rocket that went to the moon. He then went to work for F Strauss and Son Liquor Wholesales followed by working for Glazer Wholesales where he retired. He was recruited to coach the Filmore Playground 120 pound boys football team from 1969 until 1971 followed by coaching the Kenilworth Playground boys football team for three years. He will be dearly missed by his wonderful family, friends, and coworkers.
His neighbors were very caring and compassionate in times of need. The family wishes to thank them from the bottom of their hearts. Also, the family wishes to thank the staff and nurses at East Jefferson General Hospital Emergency Room, his long-term health care nurse, Ann Bartman, and every nurse and doctor that assisted in caring for him.
