Joseph Evola, Sr.

Joseph Anthony Evola, Sr. passed away on April 29, 2018 at age 88. Beloved husband of Mary Barcia Evola; father of Lynn Evola Dishongh (Alan), Joseph Evola, Jr.(Vickie) and David Evola (Angela); brother of Pete and Nick Evola; grandfather of Brandi Dishongh Smith (Thomas), Eric Dishongh (Mitzi), Ryan Dishongh (Kristin), David Evola, Jr. (Kaci), Rachel Evola Palermo (Brett), Nicholas Evola and Erica Evola; great grandfather of Ella Smith, Evan Smith, Brayden Dishongh, Breanna Dishongh, Luke Dishongh, Emmett Dishongh, Hannah Dishongh, Dominic Palermo, Cooper Palermo, Greyson Palermo and Luke Evola. Joseph was preceded in death by Nick Evola, Lena Evola, Rosa Zito, Sarah Schittone and Nikolena Congine.

Joseph was proud to serve in the United States Army in his earlier years. In later years, he was the owner of Milan Superette and was also a long time parishioner of St. Benilde Catholic Church in Metairie. The family would like to thank Passages Hospice, especially Anthony, Lyndrell, and Tasha.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans, on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 12pm with a public visitation from 9am until service time. Interment will follow the Mass in All Saints Mausoleum.
