

Joseph Paciera graduated from De La Salle High School and attended the University of Alabama. He was a licensed realtor for over 40 years most recently with Re/Max Affiliates. He was a member of the New Orleans Metropolitan Realtors Association and the Louisiana Realtor Association.
He was hard-working, had a generous spirit and was usually the life of the party. He enjoyed hydroplane racing and was a member of the New Orleans Power Boat Association and the New Orleans Power Squadron. He enjoyed sports cars and was known for his collection of convertibles, jaguars and corvettes. He was a proud member of the Corvette Club of Greater New Orleans. He enjoyed fishing and shooting but most of all he enjoyed his family.
Jay was preceded in death by his first wife Ellen Wittman as well as his wife of 50 years, Mary Hooton Paciera; parents, Joseph John Paciera Sr. and Lottie Bel Paciera; sister, Toni Ann Paciera; and stepson, Patrick Perry.
Survivors include his brother and best friend, Joseph Cornelius "JC" Paciera (Anna Marie "Dolly" Firkaly) and nephew Joseph Firkaly-Paciera; children, John Paciera (Jeanie), Katherine Paciera Nall, Christopher Paciera; step children Mike Perry, Tim Perry (Vidette) and Karen Perry Merwin; step daughter in law, Terri Perry; grandchildren, Jack Paciera, Isabella Paciera, Nicholas Nall, Ryan Nall (Nayeli) and Christopher Paciera; great-grandchildren, Oliver Nall and Luke Nall ; step grandchildren, Callie Perry Lattanzio (Kyle), Timothy Perry (Taylor), Adrian Perry, Ryan Perry, Eva Perry Satnick (Alex),Lena Perry, Mikael Perry (Sophia), Rachel Wilkerson, Michelle Merwin, David Merwin, Jonathan Merwin, step great grandchildren, Mickey Wilkerson, Naomi Wilkerson, Adeline Satnick, Hayden Satnick, Mason Satnick, Lena Lattanzio, Layne Lattanzio, Ava Perry, Caden Perry, Kennedy Perry as well as a step great, great grandchild, Hazel Wilkerson.

A visitation for Jay will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home & Cemeteries, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Metairie Cemetery.
