Kathleen Rensch Edrington passed away at home Wednesday, May 18. She was 88 years old. She is survived by her husband Edward Bruce Edrington; her three daughters, Elizabeth (Beth) Edrington, Kathy Edrington Swannack and Christine (Chrisie) Edrington Kelleher; two sons-in-law Charles Swannack and Harry Kelleher III; and six grandchildren: Abigail Foley Wilson, Hayden Foley Malone, William Swannack, Bruce Swannack, Kell Kelleher, Kathleen Kelleher; and eight great-grandchildren.
Kathleen was born Kathleen Christine Rensch to Charles and Althea Rensch on September 8, 1933. She was a fantastic cook, an avid tennis and bridge player, and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Family and friends meant the world to her, and she to them. She was previously a member of the Orleans Club, an active parishioner and Altar Guild member at St. Paul's Episcoal Church, and served on the board at St. Paul's Episcopal School.
Kathleen attended Lusher Grammar School, McMain High School, and LSU and worked at NOPSI prior to marrying Bruce, her husband of 68 years. She then threw herself into being a homemaker to Bruce and their three girls. An only child, Kathleen had a wonderful group of good friends going back many years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to St. Paul's Episcopal Church at stpaulsnola.org, St. Paul’s School at stpauls-lakeview.org, and Hospice Compassus, 2450 Severn Ave, Suite 315 in Metairie, LA 70001. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 26 with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. and a service at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 6249 Canal Blvd in New Orleans, LA 70124.
