Kathryn Manikin Viso

Kathryn Manikin Viso passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022. Born in New Orleans on December 16, 1941, she was the third child of the late Arthur Serge Manikin and Joy Knaps Manikin and the beloved wife of the late Leon J. Viso.

After graduating from Fortier High School in 1960, Kathryn’s career path led to her employment by the offices of many iconic local institutions: National Bank of Commerce, Bud’s Broiler Inc., Rosenberg's Furniture and, most recently, Comeaux Furniture, business names familiar to many longtime New Orleanians.

Kathryn leaves behind many to mourn her passing: sisters Rebecca Lewis, Joy Rowe, Deanna Schmidt, and brother, Arthur S. Manikin, Jr. (Susan), and many loving nieces, nephews and good friends. She will be dearly missed by all those she touched with her kindness and friendship.

Kathryn requested donations to the church she truly loved, Jackson Avenue Evangelical Congregation, 2221 Chippewa Street, New Orleans, LA 70130.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA, on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 12:00PM. Visitation begins at 10:00AM, and Inurnment will follow the service at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
