

Lanson Roy Chien, 73, received his angel wings on December 10, 2015. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Betty Miller Chien; his daughters Stacy Chien Rumney (Ricky) and Saundra Bergeron Gonzalez (Dennis); and his son, Ricky Joseph Bergeron (Dell Ann); grandchildren, Preston and Taylor Rumney, Scott and Brett Bergeron, and Lauren and Michael Gonzalez; his sisters, Carol Fournet (Tommy) and Crystal Meunier (Tommy) and nieces and nephews. Lanson was preceded in death by his mother, Lin Hie Gee Chien and father, Chin Chang Chien. Lanson was a Mathematics graduate of the University of New Orleans. He retired from Lockheed Martin as a Manufacturing Engineer and was the General Manager of N.O.U.S.B.C. in retirement. Lanson was an ambassador for the sport of bowling and was to be recognized in June 2016 for his 50th National Bowling Tournament. He was an avid Saints fan known for his infectious smile and generosity. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to have known him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. An evening visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 5 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Research Institute at cancerresearch.org.
