Laura K. Barreca

Laura Kaiser Barreca, age 85 , went to her heavenly home on August 6, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Ignatius “Nash” Barreca, Sr., and daughter of the late Bernard E. and Vera Sauermann Kaiser. She was a devoted and loving mother to Ignatius “Nash”, Jr. (Jenny), Stephen, David (Gayle), Michael (Sue), JoAnn Broadwater (Roger), and Lisa Arnoult (Richard), and the late Frank Barreca II. Laura was blessed with 20 grandchildren, including the late Kaitlynn Reneé Arnoult, and 13 great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Eileen Dalier, Lillie Yaeger, Jo Ann French, and the late Margaret Webster, Katy Richard, Doris Smith, Vera Kaiser, Patricia Lynch, and brother Benny Kaiser, as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends. A graduate of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. Also attended Holy Name of Jesus High School. Laura was a co-owner of Frank’s Steak House for 60 years. She was an active and devoted member of St. Angela Merici Church, Senior Citizens Group, and the St. Angela Ladies Auxillary. She was also a member of the Metairie Women’s Club, and the past member of the original Krewe of Freret Carnival Club. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and cherished spending time with them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 and will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church 901 Beverly Garden Drive, Metairie, Louisiana. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Second Harvest Food Bank would be appreciated.
