Leen Chin Ong

Leen is preceded in death by her parents, Gin Sing Chin and Kim Yuen Gee. She is survived by 3 brothers: Jimmy (Annette), George (Beth), Walter, and a sister: Martha (Gerald “T-Boy”) and her numerous nieces and nephews, their spouses and their children.

She was married for 62 years to her beloved husband Eng Bee Ong who recently passed away in July 2023.

Leen came to the United States in 1947, lived in New Orleans, and attended Fortier High School. She graduated with a BS in Dietary Science from Dominican College. She worked as a dietician at Ochsner Baptist Hospital in New Orleans and Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City.

She and her husband Bee lived for many years in both New Orleans and New York City. Their final 6 years were in New Orleans. In New Orleans, Leen and Bee attended the Chinese Presbyterian Church.

Leen will be remembered as a devoted wife to her beloved Bee. She greatly loved her brothers and sister, mother and father, and her extended family.

A private funeral service was held in her honor.
