Lester Joseph Conand

Lester Joseph Conand passed on Monday, March 20, 2023 at the age of 95. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 28, 1927 to Mathilda Seguin Conand and Ernest Joseph Conand, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Vivian Conand Truxillo, Evelyn Conand Buras, Josephine Conand Lassalle, and Adine Conand; and his brothers, Dennis Joseph Conand, Sr. and Pershing Ernest (“Jack”) Conand. He is survived by his faithful loving sister, June Conand Ackermann and her husband, Marvin Joseph Ackermann.

Mr. Conand was a resident of Metairie, Louisiana for over forty years. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corps. After graduating from Delgado Trade School in cabinet making, he served as a carpenter for the Orleans Parish School Board before retiring. He was a lifelong bachelor and very loved by his many friends and family, He’ll be remembered for his selfless desire to help others.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard in New Orleans, on Saturday, March 25, 2023. The visitation will begin at 2 PM with the Catholic Liturgy to follow at 3 PM. The burial services will be held privately at a later date.
