

Lois Talbot Oldenburg passed away in her sleep in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on December 31, 2021. She was 97 years old. Lois was born in New Orleans in 1924 and graduated from McMains High School. She worked for the Navy before her marriage in 1948 and in real estate for many years in the 60’s and 70’s. In addition to New Orleans, she and Bill lived in Ramsay, New Jersey, Covington Louisiana, and their favorite, Kingwood Texas. She was a skilled watercolor and oils artist who also loved to dance, play Bridge, and putter around the garden.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William John Oldenburg Jr, and her parents Eileen Bousquet Talbot and Claiborne Emile Talbot Sr. She is survived by her 5 children: Mariana (Jeffrey Tircuit); John (Kim Dupree Oldenburg); Laurie (Roy Aicklen); Leslie (Albert” Buzz” Netterville) and Margaret. Also surviving her are her siblings: Eileen Talbot Bosworth and Claiborne Emile Talbot Jr. Lois was grandmother, known as LuLu, to: Nicholas Oldenburg, Matthew Aicklen, Christopher Oldenburg, Jesse Netterville, Allison Aicklen Richard, Lisa Oldenburg, Adrianne Netterville Edmundson, Zachary Leger, Julia Oldenburg Magnon, and Amber Tircuit Tullier. She had 12 great grandchildren ranging in age from 2 to 12 years old and many nieces and nephews.
She had many blessings in her long life: family, friends, health, prosperity, artistic skill, and adventures along the way. She will long be remembered for the woman and character she was. Rest In Peace, Mama.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 12:00 PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00AM. The interment will follow the Mass at Metairie Cemetery.
